Dr. Peter Licata announces he's retiring at the end of 2024 due to medical condition.
He says after consulting with his doctors, his wife and his adult children he says he'll step down at the end of 2024.
He says he's making the announcement now so the district can properly choose his successor. Board Chair Lori Alhadeff moved to begin ending Licata's contract without good cause and place Deputy Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn as interim superintendent.
