A Canadian woman paid a facility in Texas $50,000 for two clones of her deceased ragdoll cat, Bear.

Kris Stewart first attempted to clone her cat in February 2022, one month after her beloved cat Bear died.

The cat was unfortunately killed at just five years old when he was hit by a car.

After two previously failed attempts, two new kittens were created through somatic cell cloning, which involves taking the nucleus of one of Bear’s cells into a new egg cell.

The new egg was implanted into a surrogate who gave birth to the kittens.

The new kittens, who she named Bear Bear and Honey Bear were born in January.

Kris was finally able to take the kittens home this week and she said the kittens have the same bold and sassy personality as Bear.
