Taylor Swift was the big winner at Tuesday night’s 2023 MTV Video Music Awards when she walked away with a whopping 9 awards but without some very valuable bling on her finger.
Taylor was seen walking the red carpet wearing more than $160,000 worth of bling to the event, including a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels ring from Joseph Saidian & Sons priced at $12,000.
However, behind the scenes of the broadcast, it appears the center diamond became dislodged at some point as Swift danced and cheered on her fellow artists.
In a now-viral video, Taylor can be seen grimacing as she shows the damaged ring to a member of staff, which quickly turns into an all-hands-on-deck search.
It’s unclear if the jewel was ever retrieved, but fans noticed Taylor had a blank space on her left-hand index finger as she accepted the award for Video of the Year and she was not wearing the ring at an afterparty later that night.
