A Florida woman from Altamonte Springs has been accused of pulling a gun on an employee in a McDonald’s drive-thru during an argument over a free cookie, according to police.

Altamonte Springs Police arrived at the McDonald’s restaurant at approximately 11:30 AM on Thursday (2/16/23) after receiving calls of a woman with a gun in her hand, according to the arrest report.

The charging affidavit indicates that 24-year-old Amari Hendricks became angry with an employee for not asking her about the restaurant location's rewards program, which Hendricks believed would entitle her to a free cookie after the program was not mentioned to her.

The manager told police the woman had continued to argue with employees, even after she received her free cookie.

As she argue with the staff, the manager told police she witnessed Hendricks "pull out a handgun, insert a magazine, and rack the slide" in the drive-thru.

According to reports, when Hendricks began to drive off, the staff locked the restaurant doors in fear for their lives. The arrest report indicates that's when Hendricks parked her car and tried to force herself inside.

The woman successfully forced her way inside, grabbed one of the employees, and began to pull him outside the McDonald's and the arrest affidavit shows that she struck the man several times.

The male employee received multiple scratches to his face and neck area as a result of the scuffle and indicated his plans to press charges.

When Hendricks was questioned by police, she revealed that she owned a concealed carry weapon license, but denied pulling the weapon on the staff, the affidavit shows.

Hendricks was arrested after she refused to obey police orders to exit her vehicle.

She is now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, resisting an officer, improper exhibition of a firearm, and battery causing bodily harm, according to Altamonte Springs police, and is currently being held on a $31,500 bond.
