A pizza parlor in Ohio is stirring up national controversy after they posted a sign to let the people know what kind of employees they were looking to employ at their establishment.

Santino’s Pizzeria in Columbus, Ohio has created quite a stir on social media after the owners posted a "Nontraditional" hiring sign that reads, "Now hiring, non-stupid people."

The owners say it was meant to be a joke, but not every customer thought it was funny, with one person calling in a fake order for over $100 worth of pizzas, and never picking it up.

Natasha Fox was walking into Santino’s to pick up her take-out order Friday night, "Oh I laughed, I did laugh at it, but I get it. I get where they're coming from, but I don't think it was a bad idea,”

Many people who chimed in on social media said they thought the sign was funny, which is exactly how Jayden Dunigan, the owner’s daughter says her parents meant it.

Dunigan said, “It's more humor than anything. It wasn't meant to target anyone like that or be rude."

Dunigan revealed that she has been working in her parents' restaurant for years and confirmed that finding good help has been difficult, which was the origin of her family's decision to create the sign.

She specified that "A lot of people we've hired just don't want to work. There is no work ethic behind them, so that’s the meaning behind the "Non-stupid.”

But what did the shop do with all that food that never got picked up? They donated it to their community.

"Since we don't enjoy wasting food here, we always think that someone else in need can enjoy the food,” Dunigan noted.

She also said the sign has been up for nearly two months and has gotten them more customers.

And yes, they're still hiring if you're interested.
