West Palm Beach's own Big Dog Ranch Rescue is lending a helping hand following the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian to Florida's West Coast.

On Friday, a rescue bus traveled to the West Coast of Florida to bring emergency dog and cat food to the area and they even brought back many at risk dogs.

The volunteers at Big Dog Ranch Rescue returned Saturday morning with 20 dogs from the Gulf Coast Humane Society in Fort Myers and 12 pups from the Manatee rescue.

According to CBS12, along the way, BDRR provided supplies and help to pet owners who were evacuating affected areas, many of which are still flooded.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue plans to make several more trips to affected areas to bring additional food and supplies, and hope to rescue more animals that are in danger.

But they can't do it alone! BDRR is asking for donations! Dry or canned dog and cat food, blankets, and crates are much appreciated and may be made any day between 10 AM and 5 PM at the Ranch located at 14444 Okeechobee Blvd, Loxahatchee Groves or you can visit their website to donate: BDRR.org
