Knock, knock...who's there? A big 'ole alligator! Welcome to Florida!
Reptile wranglers were called to a newly constructed home in Florida to capture an intruder that turned out to be an 11-to-12-foot alligator seeking shelter from a recent cold front.
The project manager for the house under construction in Punta Gorda, Matthew Goodwin, said an employee was installing window blinds in the home when they stumbled upon the massive gator.
According to Goodwin, the alligator entered through a laundry room door, "The wind closed the door and he was trapped. He went into every room and made his mark," Goodwin explained to The Miami Herald.
Goodwin also noted that the reptile caused approximately $2,500 worth of damage to the home.
Professional animal trappers safely released the alligator into a wilderness area.
