Truck drivers living in Loxahatchee and the Acreage are fed up with a new ordinance that takes effect in July.

"I feel like the county needs to listen a little more."

Natalia Melian and her husband own a trucking business and they keep their two semis in front of their home.

They are some of the people who will be affected by the new ordinance which states that anyone with a truck that weighs more than 16,000 pounds will be banned from parking it on their property.

A lawsuit has been filed against Palm Beach County to reverse that new rule.

"My clients are scared and they're fighting for their livelihood out there."

Attorney Chris Mills represents two truck-owners. He tells CBS 12 News that they need to keep their trucks on their properties so they can run their businesses. He says the ordinance, which takes effect July 1st, could force them out of business.

Melian says it would cost so much to rent a place to store her and her husband's 18-wheelers that it would eat well into their profits. She's also concerned about someone stealing the trucks.

Some neighbors have complained about the trucks being unsightly and loud at early morning hours and the county says the roads in those neighborhoods are not made to handle trucks that large.

Mills says no court date has been set.
