It's crazy to think this was a HUGE deal and being able to dial a number was a new invention. Before that people would need to talk to an operator who would then connect you to the person you'd want to call. Then before telephones were invented people would just open their window and shout as loud as possible to talk to friends and family who lived far away. Now our phones do everything but make phone calls lol.
