Miami-Dade Limits Pool Hours & Alcohol Sales At Hotels For July 4th Weekend

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez signed an amendment to limit pool hours and the sale of alcohol at hotels over the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Mayor Carlos Gimenez signed the amendment to the Emergency Order on Tuesday requiring hotels, motels and commercial lodging in Miami-Dade to restrict pool access and alcohol sales.

Pools at these locations will be required to close from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning and will only be open to guests.

Capacity will be limited to 50 percent of the pool deck capacity and alcohol will not be permitted to be served or consumed on pool decks before 11 a.m. and after 8 p.m.

If any of these establishments violate these requirements the county said they will close the pool and pool deck for the remainder of the holiday weekend (until July 7th)

Violators will also face a second-degree criminal misdemeanor, carrying up to a $500 fine and 180 days in jail.
