A middle school teacher in North Carolina has been suspended by a school district after a video of her routine surfaced online.
Kandice Mason, who moonlights as a pole-dance instructor, was suspended with pay pending the outcome of an investigation.
According to Mason, school officials saw the video of her pole dancing that she posted on her private Facebook account. She says school officials cited a policy that says employees are role models who are "responsible for their public conduct even when they are not performing their job duties."
Mason isn't ashamed of her part-time pastime and says pole dancing is an art form and a great way to stay in shape.
