100 Concerts In One Year #64 REO Speedwagon & Chicago

64th concert of 2018 #Kelsi100Concerts

100 concerts in one year...the challenge is on! If you have no idea WTF I'm talking about, click here for the full scoop. Look, even if it's not your favorite style of music, I'm a big believer in always seeing the legends when they roll through town. Last night REO Speedwagon and Chicago stopped right here in West Palm so you know I had to check them out.

It's pretty cool that REO & Chicago have both been around since the late 60's & they're still rocking out today. I ended up going to the concert with my mom and she knew the music way more than me. Apparently, back in the day this song was THE SONG to slow dance to....

Honestly, the thing I love most about doing this whole concert thing is the experience. Hearing music you wouldn't normally listen to, discovering new styles and appreciating the artist who paved the way. A lot of these old school dudes help form what we listen to today. I loved that Chicago has a huge band with keys, trombones, flutes, saxaphones and even a KEYTAR! I have learn to appreciate music so much more. At one point last night Jimmy Pankow, the trombone player was wailing away on the trombone and I could feel the vibration in my beer cup. It made me smile and I just took another sip and jammed away with him. No, I wasn't hammered the music was just that loud. All jokes aside you know what I mean....

In just a few hours I'm hopping on a flight to Chicago for a family vacation. I figured last night I squeeze in one last show before I'm out of town but you never know, I might see a show up north. Anyway, here's some photos from Chicago's concert last night at Coral Sky.

Check back and stalk this blog for a year of music and good stories. Remember, I have to average about 2-3 shows a week. You can follow all of my adventures on Instagram & Twitter @KelsiRadio! Well, until next concert.....
