There's been a lot of discussion about a new feature on iPhone's when you update the phone and it has a lot of parents concerned.
When iPhone users update their phone to iOS 17, the feature "NameDrop" is automatically added and it "allows users to easily share their contact information with another iPhone or Apple Watch by holding the devices very close together." When these devices connect, users can choose to share their info or receive the other person's info but it can be canceled if you lock your phone or move away from the other phone before the process is completed.
Law enforcement are warning parents about this new feature as it can be turned off to help keep your info from being shared with someone unknown. To turn off this feature, you must:
- go to "Settings" -> click "General" -> click "AirDrop" -> turn off "Bringing Devices Together"
