III Points Makes It's Return to Miami for 2022

III Points Miami is a music and art festival that continues to grow every year and 2022 has proven that. Between the full crowd dancing along to Rosalia to the DJs performing at the Space Skate stage, there were always great artists playing and vivid art installations all over the venue. After nearly selling out, III Points was the event to be at in South Florida this past weekend. 

Artists

III Points Miami had a great selection of music. Attendees were able to walk up to stages and find reggaetón, to DJs spinning deep house, to exclusive live DJ performances like Flume and Porter Robinson. After having to cancel their appearance at III Points in 2016 due to the threat of Hurricane Matthew, LCD Soundsystem put on a magical show at the festival on Friday night. 

James Blake was a soothing sound to listen to while enjoying the Mind Melt stage. If you were trying to find some tunes with Miami roots, then the show put on by Trick Daddy, Trina, and Uncle Luke was for you. The group had the crowd bouncing to classics from each artist like “I wanna rock” and “I’m a thug”. 

Stages

The stages at III Points Miami were phenomenal.  Attendees could find themselves in a nightclub-like environment at the Despacio Stage then find themselves skating around at the Space Skate stage. In addition, multiple outdoor stages were set up all over the art district of Wynwood. One thing I love about III Points is that the performances go all day and don’t stop until four in the morning.

Amtrac Interview

While at III Points Miami I had the pleasure of interviewing Caleb, aka “Amtrac”, who has been dominating the deep-house scene for nearly a decade. We talked about two of his most recent track releases “Domino” and “Extra Time”, along with discussing his upcoming album titled “Extra Time”. We chatted on how the pandemic gave Amtrac time to sit back and take his time creating his new album.

Caleb discussed how the album was created at a time when nothing was happening for anyone and no one was sure when a normal lifestyle would come back. Thankfully, we have slowly returned back to a normal lifestyle and Amtrac plans on having a tour for this album.
