Out with the Old Yellar, and in with new mayhem! Rapids Water Park revealed that a new ride called Mega Mayhem is set to replace one of it's original water rides, the water park's retired Old Yellar.
Rapid's announced that Mega Mayhem, a new dueling water coaster, is scheduled to open in 2023.
Bryan Megrath, general manager of Rapids Water Park said, “We are taking fun to a whole new level. The Rapids is excited to add this multi-million dollar ride to our park experience and continue bringing the biggest thrills to South Florida."
According to the water park, Mega Mayhem will be the first dueling water coaster in Florida and one of only six installed in the entire world. Standing at 54 feet tall, the ride features racing lanes 837 feet long per lane and you can reach max speeds of 22 MPH.
WPTV spoke with Rapid's and according to the park, "the new water coaster features two side-by-side flumes, where riders speed down twists and high-banked turns as they are propelled uphill by a unique blast jet propulsion technology. Riders will experience drop and dive sensations along the way and will be able to see other riders on the slide through open low-separator walls."
Rapids Water Park has 2023 Season Passes currently on sale now through September 5 for $99.95 and includes the rest of this year for free. Passes are on sale in person, or at rapidswaterpark.com.
