Remember that other rough phase of Britney Spears' life when she married her ex-husband, Kevin Federline? Well, K-Fed is back in the spotlight after a futile attempt to make the pop singer look bad, when he posted several old videos of Britney arguing with their children.
Federline and Spears were married from 2004 until 2007, and the couple shares 2 sons, Sean and Jayden.
Federline captioned the clips, “I can not sit back and let my sons be accused in this way after what they’ve been through. As much as it hurts us, we decided as a family to post these videos,” also noting that the boys were 11 and 12 at the time the videos were taken.
However, K-Fed's move may have backfired as fans flocked to the comments to defend Britney, calling Federline "disgusting" and accusing him of "weaponizing" the children against her.
To be honest, when I watched the videos, I couldn't help but feel like this seemed like a fairly standard interaction between a mother and two defiant teenage boys. This could have very well been my own mother arguing with my younger brother. I venture to say this is the most "normal" video I've seen of her lately.
In the clips, it appears that the pop singer is unaware that she's being filmed, however, in the first video, Britney can be heard trying to demand respect as she cares for one of the boy's skin, “This is my house. If I want to come in here and give you lotion for your face because it’s coarse … y’all better start respecting me, are we clear?”
In another clip, she is being filmed as she is sitting in the passenger seat of a car reprimanding one of her sons for allegedly walking into a store barefoot, and threatens to take his cellphone away for his antics.
On social media, Britney has previously stated that her sons were hateful to her during their visits to her house.
