Yet another reason not to leave your smartphone unaccompanied in the hands of a very smart toddler.
Kingsville, Texas mother Kelsey Golden received a message from DoorDash on her phone saying her order was going to take a little longer than usual due to the size of her McDonald's order.
However, she never ordered any fast food, so she thought. She discovered the reason for the notification was her 2-year-old son, Barrett, who had used her phone to place an order for 31 Mcdonald's cheeseburgers through the DoorDash delivery app.
The shocked mother of three said she was distracted working on her computer and didn't realize her youngest son had been able to unlock her phone.
"He usually likes to take pictures of himself, and so he was doing that. I thought I'd locked the phone, but apparently, I didn't because then DoorDash came with 31 cheeseburgers," Golden explained.
She also explained that the nearest McDonald's is about 6 miles away and she's used the app to order lunch for her kids before through DoorDash, but said she's always had food sent to their school and not their home, so she was shocked when the delivery driver handed her what her son had ordered.
The baffled mom said, "I didn't know what to do with them, he only ate half of one, so I posted on a community page on Facebook here in Kingsville and asked if anybody wanted some."
Everyone loves free food, right? So of course, her Facebook blew up with replies, some people coming to pick up the burgers, while others simply tried to give the mom some advice on how to properly store the food or give it away.
Golden revealed the total of the order came out to $61.58 before tipping, and it looks like the little guy even managed to figure out how to tip the DoorDasher $16. So after tipping and fees, the total for the entire order was $91.70.
