A Florida bride and her wedding caterer were arrested and are facing a slue of charges after they reportedly laced the wedding food with drugs without their guests' consent.
According to Seminole Couty Police, they responded to calls from a wedding at The Springs Clubhouse in Longwood, Florida, in February after one of the guests reported that he felt as if drugs were "inside him" upon eating the food and drinking wine during the festivities.
That's when other guests at the wedding started experiencing stomach pains and vomiting. And as first responders treated them, one guest reportedly tipped off officials that the food was laced with marijuana.
When the bride, 42-year-old Danya Glenny was asked about the drug-laced wedding food by police, she reportedly gave them a blank stare before denying the allegations.
The wedding's caterer, 31-year-old Joycelyn Bryant, and the owner of Joycelyn's Southern Kitchen, left before police could with her.
Many of the sick wedding guests were taken to South Seminole Hospital for treatment, and officials collected samples of the food to be tested. Lasagna, pudding shots, and chocolate-covered strawberries were tested among other foods consumed.
Both Glenny and Bryant turned themselves in on Monday (4/19/22) and face charges including tampering, culpable negligence, and delivery of marijuana.
