Does The Kid Laroi have something to say about his former manager, Scooter Braun? Because if a picture is worth 1000 words, a video is worth 1001.
It appears 18-year-old The Kid Laroi has put his ex-manager Scooter Braun on blast, calling him a “mistake” via TikTok video on Wednesday (4/13/22).
In the now-viral video, The Kid Laroi captioned: “Show me ur last mistake. Use this sound,” as he promoted his upcoming song “Thousand Miles.” As the song recites, “Here goes another mistake / I know I’m gonna make, I know I’m gonna make / I know I’m gonna make tonight,” Laroi sings and multiple photos of Braun pop up.
Laroi has signed with Lil Nas X’s manager, Adam Leber since parting with Braun and he hasn’t publicly given the reason why he left SB Projects, however, Billboard reported Laroi allegedly thought Braun was going to be more “directly involved” in his career.
But the very next day, Scooter assured fans via his Instagram story that the whole thing was a joke. Braun shared screenshots of a text conversation with The Kid, proving that he had even asked him for permission before posting the TikTok.
Braun wrote on his story. “For those asking about the beef…and my friends who are wanting to go hard. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.”
The screenshots show the two communicated after the viral video was posted, with Scooter saying, “People are calling from media thinking you and I got real beef.” Laroi replied, “LMAO I’m dead. They’re quick with it!”
