A standoff between a woman and state police in Bedford County, Pennsylvania went down over the weekend, and court documents are now revealing new details about what exactly happened.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Pennsylvania state police, 57-year-old Catherine Imler is now facing charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, and theft after her antics.
Officials say the incident began Saturday (3/12/2022) at approximately 1:30 PM when a man said he was washing dishes in his when he spotted Imler approaching his back door totally naked.
The man ran out of his front door to call authorities and report what was going on. That’s when Imler came out the man's back door, still completely nude, now carrying the man’s shotgun.
When the homeowner asked the intruder what she was doing, Imler continuously stated, “it’s my house,” according to the complaint.
State police responded to the scene, and when the woman refused to come outside, police set up a perimeter and immediately activated the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team.
Eventually, Imler was taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated for "self-inflicted sword wounds". She was then housed at a local prison because she could not afford to post her $400,000 bail.
