Lightning Shut Out Kings

The Tampa Bay Lightning (27-20-3) defeated the Los Angeles Kings (26-17-6) 3-0 on Thursday night at Amalie Arena. For the Kings, the loss was their fourth in a row, while Tampa Bay had been 1-4 in their last five games.

Brandon Hagel scored two goals and had an assist in this game. After first scoring in the first, the Lightning took a 1-0 lead into the third period of this one. Hagel's second goal helped clinch the win at the 15:39 mark of the third, before he assisted on Anthony Cirelli's empty-netter that made it a 3-0 final.

Andrei Vasilevskiy, who missed Tuesday's game against the Blackhawks with an illness, was back in net and saved all 28 shots he faced to earn the shutout win.

The Lightning are next in action when they host the New York Islanders on Saturday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and the Islanders is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday at Amalie Arena.
