Cell phone alarms start ringing again next week across South Florida as the new school year starts. Sleep Dr. Harneet Walia of Baptist Health says many students are off their regular sleep schedules so try to get them to bed earlier in small increments this week. She says elementary students need nine-to-twelve hours of sleep and teens require eight-to-ten to function at their best level. Also be sure to send your kids off to school with a nutritious breakfast to fuel them through the morning.
