Jewish Communities Along Gulf Coast Prepare For Yom Kippur Post Hurricane

As they continue recovering from Hurricane Ian, Jewish communities along the Gulf Coast are also preparing to observe Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz of Chabad Southwest Florida in Ft. Myers is preparing for Yom Kippur services using a generator for power and his Chabad as an emergency shelter for those who have lost their homes, are flooded out or are still without electricity. He says they are feeding-clothing and providing a safe space for those in need. He says his sermon this year will focus on the miracle of life and being grateful for what you have.
