The event featured 3 stages, in which each stage was associated with a specific EDM genre. The Mothership Main Stage featured many well-known artists and included the best production show with lighting and pyrotechnics. The Twilight Zone stage made you feel like you were at a Warehouse rave. And If you were trying to have a more intense & up close show, catching any set at the Nebula Stage was well worth it.

I actually had time to catch up with Lizzy Jane, who killed her set on the Nebula stage on Friday. Lizzy Jane was described to me as “one of the hardest working girls in the music industry” and I personally witnessed it myself. Between playing the festival, playing at the official after-party, trying to record for her own podcast, and taking the time to meet all of her fans, she didn’t stop then and she continues to put out new music and podcasts weekly.

We chatted about her coming from being a resident DJ at The Ritz Ybor in Tampa to performing at huge festivals across the United States. She talked about how she was able to overcome the difficulties of being an artist during the lockdown and how she had to quickly adapt in order to still earn a living as an artist during Covid. She mentioned that some friends ended up leaving the industry and never making a return because they had to support their families. Producing Video Game sounds was one way Lizzy adapted in order to survive when the entertainment industry was shut down. Also, she’s begun creating and selling her own NFT’s in the digital marketplace.

Performance-wise, Lizzy’s set was phenomenal, and adding her own vocals to her set was a great touch. The crowd rushed in as the sun was going down during her set on Day 1. With all of her hard work and dedication, Lizzy Jane has a great future ahead of herself and be on the lookout for the release of her EP in 2022.

Otherwise, the general vibe of the festival was amazing because everyone on Day 1 was celebrating the incoming New Year. From the people dressed up in New Years' attire to the fireworks at midnight, the day was full of New Years' celebrations. Day 2 was all about the music because the schedule was stacked full of great talent.

Insomniac Events did not slack on the production side. From the aliens walking around to the robots and astronauts, the event made you feel like you were a part of a small invasion. If an attendee wanted to feel more a part of the invasion, full make-up/new years decoration shacks were set up for everyone to use. Overall, Countdown Orlando Invasion was a wonderful way to ring in 2022!
