How Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Surprised Kate Middleton For Her Birthday

Last weekend, Kate Middleton celebrated her 39th birthday. Despite the U.K.'s latest round of COVID-19 lockdowns Kate's husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, made sure the Duchess had a very special birthday. The family reportedly had a tea party at their Amner Hall home in Norfolk.

In addition to the tea party, Kate's family baked some special treats and showered her with presents. "They baked a huge caramel and vanilla cake with 39 candles, and she was gifted a bouquet from the kids and diamond and sapphire earrings from William, which she loves," a source told Us Weekly.

Kate received another surprise from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well. According to Us Weekly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent Kate a "thoughtful" card and multiple presents for her birthday. "It was a nice surprise," the source added. "Kate wasn’t expecting anything from the couple."

Harry and Meghan are also believed to have sent William, Kate, and the Cambridge kids a number of presents over the holidays, as well. Andrew Morton, a royal biographer, told The Sun that Meghan made sure to add a personal touch to all the presents by writing special messages on each one. "Harry has sent presents to William and Kate and the calligraphy has been done by Meghan," Morton shared.

At the time, royal reporter Katie Nicholl said this was a sign that "relations are better" between the two couples following Megxit. "I know that they are in touch, that they do talk. I know that Harry sent over a load of presents for the Cambridge children," she said in December.

The Cambridge and Sussex families are set to reunite at Trooping of the Colour—AKA the Queen’s annual birthday parade, which will be held on June 12 in London.
