Fauci Optimistic About Concerts Returning This Fall

The nation's top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, says concerts could make a comeback this year.

Speaking at a virtual conference with the Association of Performing Arts Professionals over the weekend, Dr. Fauci said artists could take the stage in front of audiences sometime in the fall of 2021. He said this can happen if "everything goes right" and coronavirus vaccine distribution allows for 70-85% of the population to be vaccinated.

Fauci said attendees will most likely have to still wear masks but he thinks events will be at almost full capacity seating.

While the concert industry is hopeful for touring to resume this year, many artists have already been moving 2021 shows to 2022.
