Give me some beers and oranges and that sounds like one hell of a time. So this is a 3 day festival in Ivera, a town in northern Italy. Supposedly it's origins date back centuries and it has nothing to do with oranges. Long story short but some evil tyrant was going to rape a girl the night before her wedding but she flipped the scripted and beheaded him. She then presented his head to the townsfolk and they stormed his castle and burned it down. Like I said no clue why they now toss oranges? Maybe because throwing severed heads isn't the best idea. Whatever the true reason for this I'd be so down to go. I mean I really should take a trip to the motherland anyway.
