"This poor family paid $125 for their pet to be murdered in front of them." The guy sitting behind the family who lost their puppy wrote this on Facebook after witnessing the tragic event. He claims after they landed, there was no sound coming from the overhead bin. The mother of the family was horrified when she realized her 10 month old puppy didn't make it.
People are very upset with how United Airlines handled this situation, and they are being heavily criticized for their decisions. Angry people from all over the world are taking to social media & no one is holding back
CANNOT believe @united Airlines Crew literally caused the suffocation and death of a puppy on a flight?! By forcing the family to put him in the overhead bin! Are people this ignorant? No proper training? So disappointed and upset. Unacceptable #UnitedAirlines #animalcruelty 😥— Stephanie Carvajal (@steffy2149) March 13, 2018
This is French Bulldog that died after United flight attendant made owner put dog in overhead bin. Owner had paid in advance to keep dog in carrier under seat. United is taking responsibility. story tonight on @fox5ny #dogs #UnitedAirlines @beckycartercook @DebraCheatham pic.twitter.com/In6MSsL6qD— Linda Schmidt (@LSchmidtFox5) March 13, 2018
I don’t know how I’ll sleep tonight. It was clearly a dog in a TSA approved dog bag. Why would the flight attendant force the woman to put her dog there? I could have done something. I’m so upset.— MaggieGremminger (@MaggieGrem) March 13, 2018
I swear if I had been on that flight I would have stuffed that flight attendant into the overhead bin. Sickening. #UnitedAirlines— Lesli Margherita (@QueenLesli) March 14, 2018
United Airlines has expressed their condolences to the owner and plan on refunding the family's tickets
