My Crazy Week That Ended In Surgery

Let me start off by admitting that I totally have a hospital phobia. I don't know why but I pretty much have felt this way since I was a kid and try to avoid ever going. Last week I had a lot of firsts. The first time I stayed overnight in a hospital, my first time with anesthesia and my first SURGERY!

Little did I know that hours after posting the picture above, I would end up taking a test that determined I needed emergency surgery.  Honestly, I thought I was going home asap

WARNING:  THE PICTURE BELOW IS SUPER GRAPHIC AND FLAT OUT GROSS, BUT YOU KNOW WE'RE CLOSE SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE IT......

Are you sure you're ready for this?

Yep, that's my gallbladder and I'm pretty sure we just took our relationship to the next level!

Anxious to get out of the hospital I walked the hallway three times the next day and then straight passed out. The nurse told me walking was an important factor in determining if I could get out, so you know I hopped right up. Turns out I suck at resting and didn't really let my body fully recover. I ended up with a small infection but am doing much better.

Big thanks to my husband Justin for getting me to the hospital in time. After stubbornly telling him four to five times let's wait it out, he finally got me to get in the car and head to the ER!
