In the midst of last night's Miami Marlins game against the Atlanta Braves, an unexpected visitor made it's way on the field to not only celebrate the home opener, but also National Pet Day!
A curious feline made his presence known during the 6th inning, when the Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton noticed him out of the corner of his eye. The game was automatically put on delay when the cat began to scale the outfield wall, and made its way onto the home run sculpture.
The poor cat stayed nervously on the sculpture, which gets set off every time the Marlins hit a home run - which happened twice prior to the cats daring dash. Thankfully, Marlins Park suspended the use of the sculpture while the cat made it his temporary him.
By the end of the game, Marlins Park officials had successfully rescued mister #Rallycat from the structure!
Twitter has since taken a liking to the #Rallycat's epic adventure. Even the marlins have decided to name the new team mascot!
