The great thing about booze is, that there's a flavor for everyone, and everyone has their own tastes and favorites, right? Well, according to a new study by Upgraded Points, it turns out the Most Popular Liquors in Every State really vary, and they've broken them down by both type and brand.
Upgraded Points used Google Trends data to look for keywords for liquor types and brands, pulling that info from popular alcohol-based websites.
A total of 150 keywords were used, which included 14 liquor types, 73 popular liquor brands, and 63 celebrity liquor brands.
The most popular type of liquor in the United States turned out to be Whiskey, coming in at number 1 in 18 out of the 50 states, followed by Vodka, which is the most popular in 15 states, followed by Cognac, Scotch, and Tequila which are tied as the favorites in 4 states each.
Malibu Rum tops the list as the most popular liquor brand and is number 1 in 5 states, followed by Appleton Estates Rum, Cîroc Vodka, Hennessy Cognac, and Jose Cuervo Tequila which are tied as the favorites in 3 states each.
When it comes to celebrity liquor brands, coming in at number 1 is UFC fighter Conor McGregor's Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, which is number 1 in 6 states.
Other popular celebrity brands to make the list include: Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander's Crystal Head Vodka (most popular in 5 states), Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin (most popular in 3 states) “Vampire Diaries” Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder's Brother’s Bond Bourbon (most popular in 3 states), Director Steven Soderbergh’s Singari 63 (most popular in 3 states), and Elon Musk’s Tesla Tequila (most popular in 3 states).
