Feline Named Sushi Dubbed The 'World's Saddest Cat' Due To Skin Condition

A cat with a rare condition, who's been dubbed the "World's Saddest Cat" has finally found his forever home.

5-year-old Sushi is a cat whose breed is unknown, but his face certainly isn't. Sushi suffers from an extremely rare genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). The condition affects the connective tissue due to a lack of collagen. This typically leads to unusually stretchy and fragile skin. Due to his condition, Sushi has loose skin giving him a droopy, sad expression.

After being found on the street as a kitten, Sushi was rescued and was later adopted by Larissa Yamaguchi who found out about his condition. The rare condition means Sushi has extremely dry, itchy skin and requires regular moisturizing, a special diet, particular clothing, and soft collars.

Larissa said it took a handful of veterinarians and 4 years to discover Sushi's rare condition, but despite his somber appearance, Sushi lives a happy life.
