A mysterious "black rain" is reported to have fallen in Japan recently and there's quite a few theories behind what it is. The soot-colored rain was shared on social media in the early part of March with many referring to it as a "bad omen" or "plain disturbing".
Twitter users were speculating that the black rain could be from airplane oil spillages or North Korean missiles, but the creepiest idea is that Japan was secretly burning the bodies of coronavirus victims.
Hasuda, Japan officials have still not commented on what caused the black rain, only saying "it was a mystery that needed further investigation".
