Anne Hathaway called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday morning to talk about her new movie Rio 2 … but we also had some surprises for her!
Not only did Ryan reveal that we had stopped by her favorite coffee spot, Lilly’s Coffee Cart in Laurel Canyon, earlier in the morning, but there’s also a certain music superstar who wants to collaborate with the talented actress … her Rio 2 co-star, will.i.am.
“Someone just told me that,” said Anne of the Black Eyed Peas leader. “I’m so flattered about that!”
But she hasn’t talked to him yet … so Ryan called him up and put the two in touch via conference call on the air.
“I want to make music with you!” will.i.am exclaimed. “Yeah, so Rio 1, I was like, ‘She sings like that?’ I was blown away, Anne, seriously. And then from there, I was like, it would be so amazing to do music outside of an animated film … that would be freaking dope.”
“Yes, oh my god, that’s crazy, that’s crazy, thank you,” replied Anne.
After Ryan hung up with will.i.am, the Oscar winner gushed, “I am blushing so hard right now. This day just got that much more surreal … The thing is, he’s going to get me in the studio and then he’s going to hear me for real, and he’s going to be like, ‘Oh, never mind.’ He works with Fergie! That’s his 9 a.m. meeting. I can’t beat that!”
“Will is so good in the movie,” gushes Anne, who plays “mama bird” Jewel. “The movie is wonderful … it’s better than the first one and it truly, truly is a lovely wonderful film that parents and kids can enjoy.”
Rio 2 — which also features the voices of Bruno Mars, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, and Leslie Mann – hits theaters this Friday, April 11.
