Former U.S. Congressman Mark Foley is going to bat for the Washington Nationals and trying to bring the Major League Baseball team to Palm Beach County for spring training.

Foley has been acting as a lobbyist for the Nationals and is meeting with local leaders in an effort to get the team to South Florida.  He's working with Palm Beach County and the cities of Lake Worth, Lantana and Boca Raton.  One area they are considering is property around John Prince Park and Palm Beach State College.

In addition to the Nationals, the county has been trying to find land for the Houston Astros to play their spring training after plans for a Palm Beach Gardens ballpark fell through.
