Florida led the nation in foreclosure activity last year, according to a new report from Realty Trac.  That being said, things are improving.

New filings are on the decline in our state, but lenders and judges are moving aggressively to reduce the backlog of cases from the housing crash, according to the SunSentinel

Here in Palm Beach County, there were still more than 21-thousand properties in some phase of foreclosure towards the end of 2013.

New filings dropped year over year by 23 percent in the county.  Palm Beach County, as part of the South Florida metro area posted the highest foreclosure rate in the nation last year.  One in 25 homes here were in some stage of repossession.
