Sea turtle nesting season is now underway, through October 31st, and if you're not new to the area, you know what that means for residents along the beach. Only dim lighting should be used outdoors, but your indoor lighting is also something to take into consideration.
Jack Lighton is President and C.E.O. of Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. He tells us "The canned lights that are in the ceilings of condos...when you're on the fourth floor, they look on the beach like a spotlight."
He says bright lights disorient the turtles when they are trying to nest and simply drawing the blinds should be enough to dim those lights.
