The Palm Beach County School District is hosting a job fair for anyone interested in becoming a school bus driver, or working for the district's food services department.

The fair is going on Thursday, Jan. 30th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It's happening at the Central Transportation Facility on Summit Blvd. in West Palm Beach.

West Palm Beach, FL, January 23, 2014 - People interested in jobs with the District’s Transportation or School Food Services Departments should mark their calendars for Thursday, January 30, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. A job fair is being held at the Central Transportation Facility, 3376 Summit Boulevard in West Palm Beach that day.


Attendees will have the chance to learn more about job opportunities as bus drivers for the Transportation Department or they can find out what food service assistant opportunities are available in school cafeterias around the county.

Those interested in applying for jobs available in the Transportation Department should:

  • Be a safe licensed drive for the preceding five years,
  • Pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination,
  • Pass the bus driver training course,
  • Communicate effectively in English, and
  • Enjoy working with students.

Selected candidates will enjoy exceptional retirement benefits, competitive pay and health insurance.  In addition, the School District offers the Commercial Driving License (CDL) training free for those who qualify.

The ideal food services assistant candidates:

  • Have substantial knowledge of safety and sanitation requirements in a quantity food services operation,
  • Possess the ability to read, write, and give directions in English,
  • Can demonstrate the ability to perform kitchen duties including food production, cashiering, and dish machine operation.

Personnel from both departments will be on hand to provide information about opportunities that are currently and soon to be available throughout the District.
