A coalition of wealthy communities and private clubs in the area is fighting All Aboard Florida.

They include Frenchman's Creek Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, which has hired professionals to oppose the high speed rail line.

The campaign consists of five communities that wrote Governor Rick Scott, demanding a meeting.

At least four Treasure Coast cities have passed resolutions opposing All Aboard Florida.

Still, plans are moving ahead for the rail line that will eventually stretch from Miami to Orlando.  The initial run will go from West Palm Beach to Miami, with a stop in Fort Lauderdale.  That is expected to be ready to go by the end of 2016.

The design for the Fort Lauderdale train station was released this week.

All Aboard Florida is privately funded.
