100 concerts in one year...the challenge is on! If you have no idea WTF I'm talking about, click here for the full scoop. Back when I was a kid, I was a huge metal fan. Going to Fort Rock was super nostalgic for me & I got to see a bunch of my favorites from back in the day! If you are short like myself, you understand the struggle of standing in a crowd. If you're not, welcome to my view....
I started off day 1 of Fort Rock with Halestorm! All I can say is get it girl! The lead singer Lzzy, left everything she had on the stage. Oh and fan fact, her little brother is the drummer.
Later on Shinedown took the stage and freaking owned it! Years and years ago I saw them but they felt like an old friend. You know, the one you don't talk to for a while & then pick up right were you left on. Click the video below, I'm sure you will recognize this song...
When it comes to metal, headbanging is part of the culture. I have seen dreads fly through the air but never from a dude's face. Yep, the guitarist is really headbanging with his beard dreads! Five Finger Death Punch played a mix of their new/old stuff. At one point Ivan, the lead singer sported a jacket made out of creepy skin like faces...
Wrapping up night 1 of Fort Rock with Godsmack was perfect! It was actually my first time seeing them & I'm super stoked to be able to add them to my list of shows
Fort Rock had one killer line up! It was also my first time checking out Markham Park over in Sunrise. The venue was completely outdoors with no seats...my favorite kind! On a side note, they had the best prices for beer and water. Below are some random photos I took during the show
